Final designs released for Two World Trade Centre

One face of the building, looking south and viewed from the Tribeca district, depicts a series of stepped green terraces and represents the adventurous aspect of the proposal. The opposite side, facing north and viewed from the 9/11 Memorial, shows the stepped blocks united in an impressive tower. Fusing these two ideas provides cohesion between the contemporary skyscrapers of the Financial District and the lofts and roof gardens of the Tribeca area.

Two World Trade Centre will be over 80 stories high and approximately 1,340ft once it is completed (expected 2020). 20st Century Fox and News Corp will occupy the lower half of the building, while Silverstein Properties will lease out the upper half to other commercial office tenants. Ingels has also ensured the views to St. Paul's Chapel from the Memorial park are not intercepted by aligning it along the axis of World Trade Centre Master Planner Daniel Libeskind's 'Wedge of Light' plaza.
