Elemis Spa at the St Regis Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

Minutes away from the business and entertainment life-blood of Bangkok, the St Regis is a beacon of sophistication, with the Elemis Spa situated on the 15th floor of this 47-storey tower. The spa was designed by Kate and Paul Greenwood of Sydney-based studioaria, whose mission statement is to “create inspirational interior design with personalised service and expertise”, meaning all their projects are individual. It’s easy to see how this personalised touch has worked on the Elemis Spa; the white marble sanctuary is complimented by white leather and sand coloured carpets.

A duplex of hot and cold pools – including plunge pools and a Reflexology-inspired Foot Ritual Wading Pool – match the giant wicker egg-shaped pods that are suspended over the mezzanine, adding to the splendid decor.  It would be almost too easy to lose track of time in this chic spa, what with the 16 treatment rooms to choose from, a colour-therapy chamber and disco showers that have sound-system plug-ins. The Elemis Spa has most certainly found a unique balance of harmony, tradition and innovative fun.
