The timeline of the iPhone design

iPhone 1 (First Generation)

Launched: June 2007 (US), November 2007 (UK)

Steve Jobs presented the iPhone, angling it as being three devices in one: a touchscreen iPod, a revolutionary mobile phone and a mobile web browser.

Today these technologies are massively taken for granted, but in 2007 the iPhone was unlike anything that had appeared before. Now the original looks chunky and feels heavy, but its 3.5-inch screen had a 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 2MP camera, and up to 8GB of storage wowed the world.
