The Surface Design Show Will Unveil the Most Exciting Surfaces for 2017

Only 5 days to go before #SDS17!

It's less than one week before the Surface Design Show 2017 kicks off so if you haven't already registered, now is your chance. From 7 to 9 February, over 170 exhibitors will be showcasing thousands of inspiring interior and exterior surfaces at London’s Business Design Centre.

For more than 11 years now, the show has become the destination for the industry to see, touch and explore the latest materials and gain new insights. There's plenty of seminars and events taking place to take inspiration from too. Featured in the show are The Light School, The Stone Gallery, The CPD Hub and Surface Spotlight Live.

Design and trend consultant, Sally Angharad said, ‘Technology and craft are both key and I will be looking for surfaces that bring a contemporary twist to traditional materials, such as wood and stone, using innovative processes. Confidence and eye-catching colour continue to grow.

‘Abstract paint effects are appearing on floors and walls, with bright colours and metallic introduced in expressive and spontaneous ways. Above all I will be searching for those wonderfully tactile surfaces that leave a lasting memory.’

The show will have a packed programme of events designed to inspire and engage, including brand new ideas and firm favourites refreshed to provide the audience with a unique experience.

Some of the events taking place are the Preview Evening Live Debate hosted by David Michon and the all-popular PechaKucha Evening – an informal and fun presentation of inspirational slides, which is hosted by Phil Coffey of Coffey Architects and includes speakers Elly Ward, Ordinary Architecture and Matthew Driscoll of Threefold Architects.
