Paris Announces Seven Skyscrapers in Hopes to Lure in London Businesses

Paris launches campaign for post-Brexit businesses.

Seven new skyscrapers have been proposed for the La Défense district of Paris as part of an attempt to attract businesses from London to the Parisian city.

As part of a new marketing campaign for La Défense district, French presidential candidate Emmauel Macron announced their proposal for a 'family of skyscrapers' during a visit to London last week.

The proposal aims to attract banks, talents, researchers and academics who will be forced from post-brexit London to the business district of Paris when the UK leaves the EU.

The seven skscrapers named Trinity, Alto, M2, Hekla, Sisters, Air 2 and Hermitage will be located in La Défense district where 40 per cent of workers are expected to be employed. The design team includes, French architect Jean Nouvel and British designer, Norman Foster.

In Paris' attempt to woo companies concerned about Brexit, their slogan reads, ‘Tired of the Fog? Try the frogs!’.

Marie-Célie Guillaume, director of the organisation Defacto (who manages the district of the campaign) said, ‘Paris La Défense is a turnkey destination with a thriving economic ecosystem in the heart of Europe, offering a level of culture, quality of life and unbeatable dynamism: Essential factors to consider for relocation.

‘This campaign unrolls the blue-white-red carpet to thousands of talents and professionals who are now looking for a new European headquarters.’

‘As regrettable as the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union, we must be pragmatic and assert the strengths of our territory,’ added Defacto president Patrick Devedjian.

The skyscrapers are expected to be completed by 2021.
