Coorigami

With global temperatures rising, the temporary solution of using air-conditioning to keep cool is only increasing energy consumption within communities, circling back to add to the issue of climate change. The team behind Coorigami were inspired by this vicious cycle to reduce room temperatures with no electricity use – leading to lower electrical bills and reducing a household’s carbon footprint.

By applying the art of origami, Coorigami has created window blinds that use tessellations to fabricate intricate designs. Folding patterns are transformed into pieces that suit individual living spaces, whist the blinds themselves have the ability to expand and compress – think flat packs - making them easy to store. Small air vents are incorporated into the blinds and encourage compressed, cooler air to pass through the openings into the living space, offering cooler room temperatures. Both practical and creative, Coorigami offer a unique, stylish design that has a lasting positive impact.
