FX AWARDS 2016: THE WINNERS
Floor covering
Winner: Chevron Collection
by Kahrs
Image: Kährs UK
Sponsored by Universal Fibers
This is a range of four on-trend patterned wood floors, crafted from sustainable European oak.
The distinct, authentic design creates a very chic, parquet look, while a combination of surfaces, finishes and colour hues bring texture and a modern, stylish edge. As well as Chevron’s aesthetic qualities, the floor also features a truly innovative plank construction, facilitating a very fast, straightforward installation.
Chevron combines the parquet look with a modern plank construction: the floor’s design features 19 angled strips along the board’s 1900mm length, with angled ends. Boards come in alternate right and left-handed formats, so that they create the continuous zigzag pattern.
A bevelled edge emphasises the design’s pattern, while lively graining, a tactile brushed surface and durable natural oil pre-finish reinforce its natural look. During production, Kährs uses a multilayered construction, with a sustainable oak surface layer and a plywood and oak core.
