Lee Broom is one of the UK’s leading product and interior designers. Since 2007 he has released 75 furniture and lighting products that he designs and manufactures under his own label Broom. In addition he has created 20 products for other brands.
He has also designed more than 45 commercial, retail, restaurant and bar interiors. In 2015 Broom was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s highest accolade for business success, at Buckingham Palace by the Queen. Broom has also won more than 20 awards, including the prestigious British Designer of the Year Award in 2012, and in 2013 he won his fourth award in three consecutive years in the British Design Awards for his renowned lighting product, Crystal Bulb.
A supporter of British manufacturing techniques, Broom designs, manufactures and retails his own collections, in addition to collaborating with leading brands including Christian Louboutin and Mulberry. His products are sold in more than 170 stores in 45 countries.
Founding the Broom brand in 2007, Lee Broom has a background in theatre and was a child actor until he was 17, when his career plan changed track after entering the Young Designer of the Year competition, judged by Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Broom interned in her studio for almost a year and then studied fashion at Central Saint Martins, during which time he designed interiors for several independent bars and nightclubs across London. This cemented his move into interiors.
The beginning of winning what has been many awards was in 2003 for his work for the Bedouin Bar, collecting Theme Awards for both Best New Bar and Best Chain Bar. He now has no less than 21 national and international awards to his name!
