The BFI in London is hosting a study day on architectural visions in sci-fi cinema this Saturday. Building Brave New Worlds includes presentations, screenings and discussions with experts and practitioners, exploring the fertile two-way traffic of ideas between sci-fi cinema and architecture, urbanism and planning.

The day starts with a key note speech from Nic Clear, Head of the Department of Architecture and Landscape at The University of Greenwich, followed by presentations from film scholars, writers, and architects on subjects such as space ships, high rises and Star Wars. There will also be two film screenings - Nation Estate by Larissa Sansour and Robots of Brixton by Kibwe Tavares.
Tickets are £16, £12 for concessions.
