Denver International Airport is one of the most iconic on our list, and was designed to break the mould of airports being ‘people processors’. The rolling, fabric-covered tent roofline was designed by Curtis Fentress to imitate the snow-capped Rocky Mountains.
The Teflon-coated fabric peaks saturates the airport interior with natural light, and the tents have been seen to ‘glow’ softly at sunrise and sunset. More recently, a train line has now been put in place that allows travellers to move directly from the airport to the city centre, making the airport easily accessible.
