Visit a truly unique holiday home in Norway

Situated on a rocky slope in the Norwegian archipelago, in between the sea and the forest, lies a house made from the most beautiful leftover wood from Dinesen's floor plank production. Saltviga House by Kolman Boye Architects is a unique building constructed entirely of wood. It was created as an experiment driven by curiosity about caring approaches.

Respecting the entire tree trunk When we select our trees in the Black Forest in Southern Germany, we make every effort to give the entire tree trunk a new life and a new purpose, viable for at least as long as the tree has grown in the forest.

During the production of our floor planks, the planks are cut to bespoke sizes, and leftover pieces of wood occur. We call these leftovers or offcuts. The offcuts are of as high quality and hold just as much value as the planks that become a Dinesen floor. Therefore, every offcut left over from the trunk is preserved for other purposes.
