The fascination with wood keeps growing
When 1st generation Dinesen founded Jels Sawmill in 1898, it was with a love of wood at the heart. Over the years, each generation has considered wood from their perspectives and found a new fascination with its possibilities. This curiosity has driven Dinesen forward and into new collaborations and exciting projects.
The Danish Sønderborg Castle was a project steering Dinesen towards new solutions based on tradition and supported by expertise. The castle is designed with Dinesen Douglas floors in Historical planks and Curated Widths as a tribute to the old, responsible craftsmanship, where the planks were cut according to the conical shape of the tree and the entire span of the trunk was utilised.
