British Ceramic Tile brings style to London’s West End

British Ceramic Tile has expanded its hospitality portfolio with the transformation of the historic Strand Palace Hotel, bringing a sense of luxury to the timeless building.

Situated in the heart of the West End, the Strand Palace Hotel dates back more than 100 years. Art Deco features are complemented by truly British charm, with parts of the foyer now kept in the iconic V&A Museum to celebrate the golden era.

The bathroom floors were updated with British Ceramic Tile’s stunning Illusion floor tile, a luxurious and practical floor covering solution. Illusion features a 3D, three-tone block effect to bring floors to life, and is available in a 331x331mm size.

Chosen by the client thanks to its eye-catching geometric design, Illusion was also specified due its many practical benefits. Hard wearing and water resistant, the ceramic tile is perfectly suited to a wet room environment and requires little maintenance making it an ideal solution within a hospitality setting.

Liam Poole, head of specification marketing at British Ceramic Tile said: “The on-trend geometric pattern reflects the luxurious interiors of the Strand, and makes a real impact underfoot. There’s a definite movement towards floors that feature a strong design aesthetic within the hospitality sector at the moment. The tile also has a good slip rating which is essential when refurbishing bathrooms, making them well suited to public use.”

The full refurbishment is set to be completed by 2020.
