VitrA has commissioned international designer Christophe Pillet to create a new portfolio of furniture to include in the new Memoria range, as part of its mission to reclaim the bathroom as a sophisticated space for relaxing and bathing.

Memoria's restrained styling, precise lines and combination of materials, sets it apart from other bathroom furniture designs. Pillet expertly brings together warm and welcoming finishes; Chestnut, High Gloss Metallic Grey, and High Gloss Metallic Mocha, to balance the cool and minimalist lines of the modern furniture. He has created a cohesive range with wall-hung vanity units, mirrors and tall units. His wonderful sense of balance is evident in the interplay of shapes throughout the range, and striking recessed basins and asymmetric drawers. Memoria's refined aesthetic transforms the way that these bathroom products can be used; making it possible to create a truly integrated living-bathroom space, which enhances the home.

VANITY UNITS
Typical of VitrA's versatile portfolio, it's possible to choose a vanity unit and basin from a variety of configurations, ensuring there is a perfect option for every bathroom. There are four vanity units; a 120cm or 150cm wide unit with a ceramic basin, or a 120cm or 150cm wide unit with an Infinit mineralcast basin. Each vanity unit has an upper and lower level of drawers, with three in the upper tier and two below. Inside, the drawers are just as pleasing with drawer separators to help effectively compartmentalise and organise the interiors.

The vanity units have a completely seamless appearance with both the ceramic and mineralcast tops extending the width and depth of the unit. A focal point is created with a central recessed basin in a geometric square or rectangle shape in Infinit mineralcast, or a round or oval shape in ceramic. To keep excess splashes on the top contained, the surface is cleverly raised slightly to the exterior edges so that water gravitates back to the central basin, making it both a beautiful and highly functional piece.

The Infinit mineralcast basins boast a really unique feature thanks to the versatile nature of the material. The designer has created recessed square pockets to house toiletries, as the material can be moulded into precise and angular lines. This stylish feature ensures that toiletries are kept within easy reach.

TALL UNIT
A smart tall unit can be used to complement the vanity unit, with either a full cupboard option or a split cupboard with pull-out mechanism. The later features an ingenious use of space, whereby tall and narrow shelves can be fully accessed thanks to the pull-out mechanism. This inventive use of space fits the specific needs of the bathroom where many bottles may need to be stored. The tall units are available with left or right handed opening for ease of planning.
