The Tongue chair is a classic Arne Jacobsen design. It has the immediately recognisable characteristics of the organic wave-form in the seat; complemented with highly
sculptural, splayed legs.
VENEER VERSION
The surface veneer is in matt lacquered 0,6 mm knife-cut sanded veneer on both sides.The inner layers are in 1,0 mm rotary cut birch: 7 layers on shell. The thickness of theshell is 9-10 mm.
Standard finishes: Walnut, oak, and beech as well as stained in black, white and teak.
UPHOLSTERED VERSION
The upholstery is as standard in Divina MD fabric and Savanne leather. The back is fully upholstered. As standard the cushioning is fire retardant CMHR polyurethane foam. Thickness is 10 mm on the front of the shell and 5 mm on the back of the shell. Foam density is 55 kg/m3 on the shell.
Standard finishes fabric: Divina MD in 613 light pink, 813 mint blue, 433 ocher and 453 sand.
The chairs triple curved form moulds to the body’s natural contours. The waterfall shell design does not restrict blood circulation and so prevents undue pressure under the thighs. The shells, frames and chroming are all produced according to ISO14001 standards. The Tongue is FSC certified and the chrome is trivalent chrome (chrome3). All parts of the chair can be dismantled and recycled.
