Elefant Gratings Brise Soleil is a sun-shading system designed to help reduce glare and overheating inside buildings by reflecting direct light.
This typical horizontal structure extends from the façade of the building reflecting light and heat build up from windows. Louvres can also be integrated to prevent the amount of high-angle summer sun falling onto the façade but allows the low-angle of the winter sun to still allow some passive solar heating into the building.
