BetteLux Oval Couture is a free-standing bath and floor-standing washbasin in glazed titanium steel, which have been upholstered in a comfortable, yet highly durable fabric.
The design concept of an upholstered bath was presented at last year's Salone del Mobile, and such was the reaction and requests to order, that Bette, with designer Dominik Tesseraux, has developed the concept into an original and functional collection of bath and basin in four colour options.
The surprising BetteLux Oval Couture combines glazed steel and homely fabric to bring sensuousness and comfort to the bathroom, in a way that has never been seen before. The baths are upholstered in a woven, functional fabric by German specialist JAB Anstoetz. The soft-to-the-touch, easy-care fabric is more usually used in high quality outdoor furniture, and is resistant to water, mould and damp climates.
Comments Bette head of marketing, Sven Rensinghoff: "Although today's bathrooms achieve exceptionally high standards, most usually radiate a rather cool, functional elegance. With designer Dominik Tesseraux of Tesseraux + Partner, we decided to try something absolutely new and bring the sensuous quality of upholstered textiles into the bathroom."
The BetteLux Oval Couture collection features a free-standing oval bath (185 x 85 cm) and a free-standing circular washbasin (55 cm). Both have a high quality,
durable and easy-to-clean steel/enamel interior and a strong stainless steel frame, onto which the woven, functional fabric is upholstered.
The bath and washbasin are available in Ivory (beige), Moss (green), Carbon (anthracite) and Elephant (grey marl), with matching steel/enamel or a wide choice of other colours in the steel/enamel, including matt shades from Bette's Exclusive Colours collection.
The bath and basin feature a minimal 8 mm slim rim and a 30 mm shadow gap under the bath, for ease of cleaning. The upholstered collection also makes a positive impact on bathroom acoustics, contributing to the quality of the bathroom experience.
