#9 Splendid Court at 85 Sky Tower Hotel

The Splendid Court is one of the restaurants located within the Palace Club on the 77th floor of Kaohsiung's most iconic building: 85 Sky Tower.

Also known as the Tuntex Sky Tower, the number 85 refers to the number of floors it features, and it was created by architects C. Y. Lee and Partners and Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK).

The interior embodies traditional Chinese design with minimalism and elegance. Over 300m up the restaurant claims stunning views of Kaohsiung city and the shimmering harbour.

The building itself is a distinctive shape and is actually derived from the Chinese character 'Kao' meaning 'tall'.

Three express elevators scale this skyscraper, claiming to be among the fastest in the world and traveling at 750m per minute - this record has only been broken by those in Yokohama's Landmark Tower and Taipei 101.

It seems theme parks and restaurants go hand in hand, as this is the second restaurant on our list to include them in the building (located on the lower floors, in case you were wondering).
