Ti Martwonis Restaurant reopens in Erie midtown

Businessman Pat Artise has reopened the former Papermoon Restaurant in downtown Erie midtown as a new casual restaurant called 'Ti Martwonis'.

Pat Artise also plans to extend the restaurant into the former Erie Paint building. The first floor of the building is planned to be converted into an entertainment spot which will include dancing, jazz and blues bands. A long bar with 20 to 30 tap handles will be constructed on the first floor.

The expanded area will also feature a retail area, which is expected to be ready by mid 2010. The construction of new electrical service and façade is still in progress.

Ti Martwonis will house a courtyard built behind the restaurant named 'Tee Mar-toon-eez', which is expected to open by mid 2010. A courtyard-style beer garden will also be built behind the former Erie Paint building.

The total project is expected to cost more than $700,000. The second and third floors of the Erie Paint building are planned to be sold for residential condominiums, with the third floor to be converted to a mezzanine.

The restaurant will offer sandwiches and grilled pizza along with the steaks and Italian dishes.
