The 10 Best Public Toilet Designs of 2017

#9 : Wembley WCs

Design: Gort Scott

Location: London, England

With a stylish, gold perforated metal facade, this public toilet stands over five metres tall, resting at the centre of a pedestrianised area in Wembley, London - with its unique design, it could almost be viewed as glamourous.

The base of the public toilet is made of concrete, reinforcing the building and making sure it is capable of standing up to the inevitable knocks and scrapes of usage. Above head-height, however, the structure becomes a filigree, shiny metal screen that allows for light and ventilation - without letting any passer-bys peek inside. During the evening, this perforated, water-cut screen also creates the effect of a glowing lantern, shining like a beacon for all who may need to use it.
