Royal Devon & Exeter hospital has announced the completion of a renovation project for its Bramble Ward and Neo Natal Unit.

The renovation project was undertaken with GBP20,000 funds raised via charity and fund-raising activities initiated by Councilor Hazel Slack, the then Lord Mayor of Exeter.

The Bramble Ward has been painted with new colour schemes for the three bedrooms and lounge area that was selected in consultation with parents of young patients at the RD&E.

Interior designing was done by Jeannie Forbes who created a ‘mood board’ for parents and staff on the ward to choose the colour scheme and style of furnishing.

Jeannie said, “The parents didn’t want the rooms to feel too corporate but they did want an uncluttered, fresh modern space to relax and switch off in.”

Senior Matron of Bramble Ward Sarah Haywood said, “There is of course nothing quite like the comfort of your own things around your home but the accommodation for parents on the ward is a comfortable space.”
