Renovation underway at Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta

The 73-storey Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta is undergoing a $45 million renovation, which is being led by the Atlanta-based architecture firm Cooper Carry and interior designer Carolyn Auguer of Blackdog Studio.

The renovation will include guest rooms, hallways, full window replacement and environmental upgradation. The guest rooms and suites of the hotel feature Art Deco-inspired interiors.

To provide an upscale and luxurious experience to the guests, the renovation has incorporated a $2 million upgradation to the six luxury suites located on the 69th and 70th floors, including the two-storied Chairman and Presidential suites. The renovation also involves the replacement of all 6,350 windows of the hotel and a $13 million environmental upgrade of the heating and cooling system to promote sustainability. It will add five guest rooms, bringing the total available rooms to 1,073.

Keeping intact the floor to ceiling windows, the guest accommodations feature new carpet, paint and wallpaper, new Heavenly Bed duvets, boudoir pillows and bed skirts, new ergonomic desk chairs, lamps, phones, environmentally-friendly climate controls, 42 inches flat screen televisions, new window treatments, upgraded shower system, and resurfaced bathroom tiles and surfaces.

The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View will also undergo a $3 million renovation in the coming months. The room renovation is expected to be completed by mid-November 2012.
