New York Walmart supercentre completes renovation work

The Walmart supercentre in Henrietta, New York, has completed a two-month renovation project of its interior facilities.

The project marks the first major makeover of the store in seven years since it was transformed into a supercentre. The facility has been equipped with new signs to direct customers to specific goods. A new LED lighting system has also been installed which consumes less energy while providing brighter lighting.

In-store refurbishments include work on the electronics section which has been enlarged by about 75%. The jewellery segment has also been revamped.

The renovation project is part of a new approach that Walmart is adopting across its stores. The new approach features stores with less signage and promotional material that could block the path of shoppers. The retailer is also working with local governments on design issues like facade design and sign dimensions.
