Morten Emil Engel designs wooden stool

Danish architect Morten Emil Engel has designed a stool, manufactured by PP Møbler, to be displayed in an exhibition organized by Japanese architects Atelier Bow-Wow at the Krabbesholm Højskole in Skive, Denmark.

The designer stool is carved from one solid piece of oak wood, to provide a rugged, organic, joint-free, highly durable piece of furniture, made to last for generations. It is manufactured using organic oil for surface treatment, without any screws, glues or chemicals.

Each stool designed by Engel looks different, due to variations in color, grain, pattern, and texture of wood. The design embraces imperfections, such as cracks and crevices that naturally occur during drying, as well as the slight changes in form that happen with shift in humidity and reaction to weather.

PP Møbler is a furniture manufacturer located in Denmark.
