ALD House

SPACE architects ensure all its projects follow sustainable design guidelines and ALD House is no exception. Covering little over 1,000 sq m, the aim was to achieve a balance between a modern architecture home and cosiness.

To accomplish this, SPACE implemented only a few different types of materials in order to keep it clean-cut and allow for each interior space to take on its own personality.

What's unique about this contemporary home is that the designers have combined art and architecture. In this sense, the décor is not simply decorative but is a contributing element to the building's interior. Representing this idea is a huge 2 x 6m hyper-realistic painting of a Porsche 78, situated in the double-height living room.

The living room also features a large modern cast sphere chandelier hanging from the ceiling, creating a dramatic yet chic look.

Bursts of colour are seen in the living room on the rug and some furniture, consistent with the Porsche's vibrant red up on the wall, which balance out the simplicity of the materials. The use of wood on the exterior and accents on the interior seen on the breakfast bar and stair railing create a warm ambience.
