To celebrate the centenary of the birth of British furniture designer Robin Day, Assemble has designed an installation responding to Day's love of wood. Curated by Jane Withers, it will be shown alongside original furniture designs, archival photos and tools.
2 Curiosity Cloud By Mischer'Traxler

Austrian design team mischer'traxler is collaborating with Perriet-Jouet to create Curiosity Cloud, an interactive installation comprising 250 mouth-blown glass globes hanging within the V&A's Norfolk House Music Room. Exploring 'the transience of nature and the Art Nouveau movement', each globe will hold a handmade insect, which will flutter and emit sound when they collide with the glass they are trapped in.
3 The Mexican Pavilion: You know you cannot see yourself so well as by reflection
Image:London Design Festival
Mexican architect Frida Escobedo has created a pavilion in the V&A's John Madejski Garden to mark the Year of Mexico in the UK. Inspired by Tenochtitlan, the Aztec city built on a lake, it is a flexible space made up of layers of reflective surfaces that can be moved and adapted for various events and activities.
4 The Ogham Wall by Grafton Architects
As part of Irish Design 2015 (ID2015), a year-long initiative celebrating Irish design talent, Dublin-based practice Grafton Architects will present The Ogham Wall. Inspired by the Irish Ogham alphabet that dates from the 4th century, 3m-high, cast concrete 'fins', etched with the pattern of bark, will be arranged in the V&A's Tapestry Gallery for visitors to move in between.
5 Mise-En-Abyme by Laetitia De Allegri and Matteo Fogale
Designers Laetitia de Allegria and Matteo Fogale have teamed up with Johnson Tiles to create a colourful installation on the bridge over the Medieval and Renaissance galleries. Inspired by the use of perspective in Renaissance art, they have designed 'a landscape of shapes' and tiles that will enhance the feeling of depth at the entrance to the bridge.
6 The Tower of Babel by Barnaby Barford
The Tower of Babel, an impressive 6m-tall installation by artist Barnaby Barford, comprises 3,000 bone-china facades, each depicting a different London shop previously photographed by the artist. At the base of the tower the shops appear derelict, slowly morphing into more prestigious boutiques and galleries higher up the structure - all will be for sale during the exhibition.
