Juventus Stadium inaugurated in Italy

The Juventus football club has inaugurated its new football stadium in the city of Turin, Italy.

The construction of the stadium began in March 2009 and was completed in time for 2011-2011 football season. The stadium has been designed by Hernando Suarez and Gino Zavanella. It has a maximum seating capacity of 41,254 spectators. The total outlay of the project was €105 million ($143.2 million).

The stadium has 3600 premium seats and 120 executive boxes. The stands are placed just 7.5 meters from the field, bringing the last row only 49 meters away from the play field. The complex also includes a 34,000 square meter shopping complex and a car park for 4000 vehicles. In addition to these, there is a museum on Juventus' history.

The stadium was constructed keeping the environment in mind. The construction was aimed at having a lower impact on the environment. The stadium has photovoltaic panels that produce solar energy for running the stadium's operations. The solar panels produce warm water that heat the rooms, kitchens, changing rooms and football field by means of a district heating network.

Furthermore, the stadium is compliant with the principles of the Kyoto protocol. The stadium does not pollute air, has no risk of fire, has a low carbon footprint, integrates with district heating, uses green energy, reuses rainwater, does not produce any chemical or causes acoustic emission and has also trimmed down the consumption of water by almost 50%. In addition to these, the building has reused some construction material from the old Stadio Delle Alpi.
