HOK masterplans March LifeCare Campus in California

Global architecture design firm Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum’s (HOK) Los Angeles office has partnered with March Healthcare Development to create, develop, and execute the masterplan for the March LifeCare Campus in Riverside County, California.

Heralded as America’s Health and Wellness city, the new March LifeCare Campus will be a center for medical treatment and research in Southern California. The six million-square feet, 236-acre project is designed to include a hospital, medical office buildings, retail, skilled nursing facilities, a continuing care community, wellness centers, healing gardens, spiritual healing facilities, and ambulatory care facilities.

The project is integrated with open space green areas featuring parks, water features, walking trails and exercise areas. In addition, arts will play an integral role in the day-to-day activities of the campus, both within the hospital and in performances and displays throughout the grounds.

March LifeCare is being built on surplus land of the former March Air Force Base, which was converted from an active duty base to reserve status in 1996.
