1. Design Shanghai
13th-15th October

Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center

Now in its ninth year, Design Shanghai returns to welcome some 70,000 professionals and visitors over four days. It will showcase more than 400 international brands from 30 countries and regions, as well as introducing more than 100 new exhibitors to the line-up of international and Chinese brands. The event also features Forum talks from visionaries and innovators across the design and architecture sphere. 

Design Shanghai has changed its date to 13-15 October, since publication’.

2. RA Summer Exhibition 2022

Celebrated British sculptor Alison Wilding RA is coordinating the 254th Summer Exhibition that will explore climate as a theme. This year’s committee are Royal Academicians Rana Begum, Stephen Chambers, David Mach, Farshid Moussavi, Grayson Perry, Conrad Shawcross and Bill Woodrow. Niall McLaughlin will curate the Architecture Gallery. The committee will be chaired by Rebecca Salter, president of the Royal Academy.

3. Clerkenwell Design Week
24–26 May

CDW returns, bringing the latest designs, innovations and creative ideas celebrating the history of Clerkenwell, as well as hundreds of design-led fringe events, workshops and presentations. CDW will host a series of talks in Spa Fields by leading designers and architects tackling topical issues. This year CDW’s festival route has been extended to include Charterhouse Square that will see Orticolario’s Delenimentum installation take centre stage.

4. Circus: Bouroullec Designs

Last chance to catch this exhibition featuring the work of brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The title of the exhibition is inspired by their lively design sense and creative spirit. Circus is a visual parade of designs for furniture, lighting, textiles, glass, ceramics and room partition systems. On display are 40 works, largely created in the past decade, showcasing their thoughtful approach to materials that merges traditional methods with the possibilities of modern engineering.

5. Salone del Mobile
