Decorex International 2017: Meet the designers
Decorex International 2017 kicks off in just under a month and we can’t wait. This year promises to deliver some incredible work from the best designers around.
So without further ado, let us introduce you to some of the most interesting makers, artists, and designers ahead of the event in September.
Genevieve Bennett
Genevieve is a visual designer based in London. Working with natural materials, she makes products for the luxury market using bespoke patterns. Her work has been featured in boutique hotels, private residences, restaurants and retail spaces by those looking for unique artwork installation.
This year, for Decorex, she is launching a brand new product. You will be able to find her work at Stand C21A at Decorex.
Adam Blencowe and Thor ter Kulve
Adam Blencowe is a graduate of Royal College of Art, London. His work fuses digital technology with traditional materials.
Using a felting technique he developed during his time at RCA, Blencowe is creating a colourful carpet for Decorex in collaboration with fellow artist Marine Duroselle.
Blencowe is also collaborating with fellow RCA graduate Thor ter Kulve to produce a series of brass furniture pieces for Decorex.
Their work will be displayed in the Future Heritage exhibit.
Merel Karhof & Marc Trotereau
Product designers Merel Karhouf and Marc Trotereau have collaborated to make a new lampshade that mixes up the dimensions of a traditional shade.
Here they talk us through the process of making the shades and what they have in mind for their installation at Decorex.
Their work will be displayed in the Future Heritage exhibit.
Decorex International will be on from Sunday 17 September – Wednesday 20 September 2017 at Syon Park, London.
