Chinnaswamy Stadium in India ready to host World Cup

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India is ready for the India-England World Cup game, following a renovation project.

The stadium’s dressing rooms are revamped, which now sports a fresh look. The facility is now equipped with new television and radio commentary boxes.

The renovation team worked within the restrictions such as the inbuilt design flow of the stadium. About 50% of the seating offers views only to half the ground or less. The players' room, commentary box or the media centre have been updated within the design and time restrictions. The spectator experience will be enhanced through the installation of new electronic screens, on either side of the ground.

The International Cricket Council officially approved Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium as the host venue for the 17 February 2011 game. The 50,000 capacity Chinnaswamy Stadium is one of the premier cricket stadiums of India. The stadium is also the home ground of the Karnataka state cricket team and the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.
