We're delighted to announce speakers and sessions have been confirmed to present on the Main Stage Programme, at Surface Design Show next month (6-8 February). Over 40 speakers from across the industry are lined up to speak in a mixture of panel sessions, debates and interviews.

And new for 2024, the entire Programme will be CPD accredited, giving you added enrichment in your personal and professional development.

DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS - WEDNESDAY 7 FEBRUARY

Materials Clinic. Specifying Sustainability: A Workshop by the Sustainable Design Collective: 
This interactive workshop will feature samples of fabrics, paints, and furniture finishes and is designed to be hands-on, giving you the opportunity to touch and feel the materials. 

Hosted by Harsha Kotek, Founder of WOD (Women in Office Design) & The Sustainable Design Collective, Harsha will be joined by panellists; Joanna Knight, CoFounder, Sustainable Design Collective, Lydia Randall, Director & Head of ESG at BDG architecture + design, Deborah Allen, Director, Douglas Jane Studio, Matthew Freeman, Director of Freeman Studio and Former President of the BIID, Alex Webb, Sustainability Consultant at The Furniture Practice.

Thinking Green in Award Winning Designs:
BIID President May Fawzy joins winners and shortlisted designers Sophie Pringle, director at Pringle & Pringle Designs, and Staffan Tollgard, Creative Director & Founder of Tollgard Design Group to discuss the challenges and opportunities of green thinking in high calibre projects.

How do we mobilise Concious Colour Intelligence to Future-Proof Design for Spaces and Places?
Host Justine Fox, Colour Design Expert, will be joined by Jason Bruges, Director of Jason Bruges Studio, Helena Howard, Architect at Hawkins Brown and Maeve Dolan, Associate at New Practice. 

This talk will explore the transformative power of colour in the built environment beyond mere aesthetics. The panellists will share their research and practice in colour, light and context.

DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS - THURSDAY 8 FEBRUARY

Rethinking material search: AI at the service of specifiers:
Hosted by Noam Noveh, CEO and Founder of Stylib, Noam will explore how technology can save designers' time, reduce specification risk and help in finding more sustainable materials.

Circularity in Lighting:
Nigel Harvey, Chief Executive at Recolight will be joined by panellists; David Clements, Chief Executive at FUTURE Designs, Gary Thornton, Director at Nulty, Colin Ball, Lighting Director at BDP and Arianna Ghezzi, Associate at Lighting Design International. This session will explore what more the lighting industry can do to further reduce emissions, from the reuse and re-manufacture of existing luminare fitting to adaptive reuse of product.
