It all began with Douglas
Dinesen Douglas is classic and has been ever since the Douglas fir constituted the first type of wood in our assortment. The fascination with the graceful tree, which towers up to 60 metres above the forest floor, continues today. Our Douglas planks are produced from the first 15 meters of the trunk, where the tree's slender, harmonious proportions are ideal for high-quality floor planks - from the magnificently wide to the fine narrow ones.
The natural, round shape of the trunk offer planks in different dimensions and thus makes projects of all kinds possible. It is in our DNA to breathe new life to as much of the trunk that will live on as beautiful floors, reflecting the tree's proportions, or as creative design solutions utilising the leftover wood that naturally occurs.
K House - a sensory impression of Douglas and concrete in symphony
K House is a harmonious universe constructed in concrete, balanced by elements in Douglas fir, and clever architectural details by Ronnie Alroy Architects. The raw expression of the concrete used for the structural elements, walls and ceilings is complemented by wide planks in Dinesen Douglas Classic, its pale, soft tone a recurring presence in bespoke solutions throughout the house.
