BAUX - The Bright Future of Wellbeing

BAUX Bring Future Vision of Architecture, Interior Design and Wellbeing to Clerkenwell Design Week 2023

For Clerkenwell Design Week 2023 BAUX reveal an exhibition dedicated to the future of Architecture, Interior
Design, and Wellbeing, in an installation featuring an exterior designed by Morag Myerscough

For CDW, BAUX has collaborated with leading artist and designer Morag Myerscough, inviting her to express her unique and celebrated style and creativity, in an exterior feature wall to the BAUX Acoustic Lounge, sat in the central location of St John's Square and saw 6 panels created from large Wood Wool tiles in Morag's choice of patterns and custom colours, covering the entire exterior of the installation. Morag says, ‘BAUX LOVE nature, and I LOVE nature.

Eight students from Scandinavia’s finest Architectural Institutes, were invited by BAUX, to explore how buildings of tomorrow can actively nurture productivity, wellbeing and creativity. The concepts were first revealed in Stockholm in February and will be presented for Clerkenwell, in a free-standing installation which takes the form of a museum-like exhibition, co-designed by BAUX and Swedish design studio, Form Us With Love. The structure has been airlifted from Stockholm, fitting with the brand’s commitment to reuse and sustainability, across all areas of the business.

The work of the students is presented through scal e mo d e l s and renders - in an exciting and futuristic Acoustic Lounge. An internal hub allows visitors to experience the BAUX Acoustic Products in more depth, with detailed background on each biodegradable ingredient, colours and variations across the range of Wood Wool Tiles and Panels, Pulp Panels, and Felt Screens made from recycled PET bottles.

The student responses include a school for over 300 children, designed to be safe for physical exploration, with the application of BAUX, moveable walls and an exciting layout - all forming a colourful and acoustically led backdrop to learning and play; A Futuristic Office looks at high-functioning work patterns in an open plan design, using BAUX to provide private, acoutiscially-sound spaces for over 1500 people, with an aesthetic combining new and more traditional colour references. A cultural venue is set on the edge of the sea, inspired by Nordic light - and accommodating a stunning view of natural scenery, into a space which needs first-class acoustics to protect the sound of the performances within. A Hospital environment brings playfulness into the healing environment, through colour, light and acoustics - paying respect to the boundaries of private and public - in the common areas of the hospital.

‘’We believe the future of the spaces in which we work, must change, and become more sustainable - focusing on the wellbeing, creativity, and productivity of its employees. By curating an exhibition fully dedicated to showcasing the work of these promising architecture and interior design students, we aim to inspire and educate visitors to join us in our vision to change the world for the better’’. Fredrik Franzon, CEO & Co-Founder BAUX Acoustics.

‘’Students are the future of Architecture and Interior Design. With their creativity and passion, they can push the boundaries of design, and create innovative spaces that will improve the way we live and interact with the world around us. As they enter the workforce, students have an opportunity to make a real impact on the built environment, and I’m very excited to allow them to use our space, to showcase their vision of architecture and interior design!’’ Niki Gynnerstedt, Head of Sustainability, BAUX.
