Chalita Jaewtrakul

Chalita's collection explores the overuse of plastic consumption. Her research concludes that plastic may not be the primary issue, but in fact our over-reliance on the material and unwillingness to adapt our consumption levels. Her focus in this collection was recycling and zero waste. Looking at both ways to cut out the fabrics and ways they can be combined to reassemble the pieces into finished samples. This process utilises both the positive and negative aspects of the laser cut out pieces to nsure this project doesnt contribute to waste streams.

Flic Studio

Flic is an emerging design studio founded by Borja Sepulcre. Flic focuses on honest design, user interaction and sustainability. Jenga/Playful Luminaires (pictured above) is a versatile collection with a playful character that invites the user to interact with light. Composed of a series of independent cubic pieces that are traversed by a light-diffusing opal central axis, and that can be rotated to 360 degrees, that allow the user to generate interesting plays of light, modifying the visual appearance of the luminaires and thus, giving it a dynamic and sculptural shape.

Nowshin Prenon

Nowshin's work was inspired by her childhood, more specifically; 'Choi Ritu', a celebration of the six seasons of Bengali Summer. She uses a variety of reversible Dobby and Jacquard fabrics of different weights for fashion, made from silk. The reversible fabric increases its functionality, meaning you don't have to refresh your wardrobe every season! Using fabrics with a variety of weights through layering allows easy flow from day to night throughout all seasons. Giving a sustainable trans-seasonal purpose to the fabrics.

Rosy Napper

Rosy has developed ReCinder, a 100% recycled material made from ash and discarded broken ceramic that has been diverted from landfill. ReCinder is a greener, waste-based alternative to industrially processed clay and it self-glazing, eradicating the need for conventionally mined and environmentally damaging raw materials often used in ceramic glazes. The source of the waste makes each object unique to the location.

Joseph Clinton

Joseph's Bodhran chair has traditional seating elements transformed into large hollow chambers channelling and projecting sounds created by the movement of sitting, body strikes and the ambient noise of the location. His practice centres upon the importance of sound, concentrating on sensory modality: often deemed secondary, superficial or overlooked, to explore methods to reintegrate sound as a design focus.
