The new proposal called ‘Alai’ will focus on a nature-inspired living experience, which will be achieved by preserving most of the forested site leaving a host of species and activities for residents to enjoy.

Reports show that since 2000 the population in the Mayan Riviera has almost doubled which has seen a significant increase in its economy.

The paradise is in need for new developments across the Riviera with high expectations in preserving the ecology of the environment for the long-term.

Strict policies have been implemented in the plan to ensure the surroundings will be able to thrive. Zaha Hadid Architects are promising just a 7% footprint overall to ensure they fall within its principles.

Landscape artist Gross Max has implemented some features into the plan including a woodland nature and a coastal wetland reserve as well as a botanical nursery.
