The Best in New Surface Innovation at Surface Design Show 2017

The highly anticipated, Surface Design Show 2017 (SDS17) incorporating the Light School takes place at the Business Design Centre from 7 to 9 February 2017. 

So far 170 national and international exhibitors will be showcasing some of the most innovative surfaces that the industry has to offer, with many of the exhibitors unveiling new surfaces designed specifically for the architectural, design and construction industries.

Since 2005, the SDS has been the destination for trade to find the newest innovations and trends in surface design all under one roof. Highlighted below are a few of the new and exciting surfaces that will be introduced at the show.

The Bay Gallery Home (stand 554) presents the world’s first Australian Aboriginal interiors collection, My Country. Its inaugural core ranges of wallpapers, ceramic wall tiles and rugs reference the Aboriginal philosophy and creative process, whereby all of creation is in relationship and at one with the land.

Spectral Lighting (stand LS360) will be showcasing IRIS L. Of what appears to be hanging in space, the Iris LED and IRIS L intrigues and fascinates with rings of shimmering light and creative use of colour. The striking design is made with dual sided LED boards, bringing the benefits of highly efficient LED lighting to a visually stunning aesthetic.

Changing the Faces of Composites (stand 226) presents Kimorra a brand of laminate veneer sheets which transforms textiles into materials for hard surfaces. The thin and flexible sheets are strong and durable, suitable for furniture making or to be used in a panel form. Kimorra gives the look of a textile while eliminating the practical issues related with such a material, the range includes opulent gold and silver patterns creating stunning looks for door panels and beyond.

The V4 Woodflooring (stand 200) returns to SDS with their new specification range, The Wild Wood. It brings together new bespoke collections sourced from specialist mills across Europe, alongside V4 Woodflooring’s high quality stocked wood flooring ranges.

Amongst the many other exhibitors launching new products at SDS17 will be Rust on a Roll, introduced by Innerspace (stand 406), Evan James (stand 404), Grestec Tiles (stand 596), Arnold Laver (stand 104), Altfield (stand 355), CDUK (stand 210), FINSA (stand 201), ITC Natural Luxury Flooring (stand 508) and Pfleider (stand 460).
