Evan James Design
Evan James Design is collaborating with award-winning product designer Adam Davies to develop its signature interactive wall coverings to incorporate light and sound.
Showcasing the first stages of this development at the Surface Design Show 2016 will be a collection of sensory wall-covering samples demonstrating the addition of light. The aim is to make this element interactive as well, utilising the latest innovations in sensory technology. evanjamesdesign.com
Scotscape
The Scotscape Fabric Living Wall system is manufactured from a patented water-retaining fabric with integrated waterproofing. Installed in 1m sections, its Fabric Living Wall can be applied to projects of any scale and shape.
This new system delivers a wide range of benefits, enabling installation to be fast and straightforward and enabling application to curved walls, gates and irregular shapes.
Suitable for both interior and exterior use, the fabric is planted in-situ, allowing the client to observe the ongoing growth and development of plants until the entire fabric is covered in dense foliage. The system has been adopted by retailer Marks and Spencer at its stores in Slough and Epping.
Following the completion of an 18-month study into the thermal benefits of living walls at the University of Sheffield, Scotscape has further developed its Fabric Living Wall system to enable the easy attachment of a variety of insulation materials to enable designers and architects to quantify the thermal benefits of living-wall systems.
The addition of 40mm-thick Rockwool to each panel adds 1.05 sq m 2K/W of thermal resistance. As an insulation option flexible Rockwool works well with the fabric system as it is also lightweight, flexible and breathable. The system also allows alternative flexible insulation layers to be incorporated to suit the architect's own specification. scotscape.net

Surface design brand Heliot & Co. has launched a range of new surfaces and individual art pieces with bold geometric shapes, pop colours and modern materials.

Soundtect
Soundtect has introduced a circular panel to its Class range of acoustic panels, designed to offer an aesthetically subtle solution to issues of reverberation.
Made from recycled PET bottles, the panels are suitable for a wide range of largescale projects. The new circular Class panel, available in both 800mm and 1200mm diameters, is part of the budget-conscious new Class Above range of baffles and rafts. soundtect.com
Concreate Lighting
Concreate will be presenting its clever lighting system at the Surface Design Show. It is a concrete wall panel with an integrated magnetic lighting system.
The design uses a low-voltage metal track, built into a panel surface, which can be arranged vertically or horizontally. Magnetic light fixtures can be placed anywhere along the track. The wall panels are available in natural, dark grey and mineral white. concreateuk.com
