A Brasserie in Strasbourg, France and a bar at the W Hotel in Guanzhou, China have been named the best in the world at this year's Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.

Les Haras, designed by Jouin Manku, and FEI, designed by A.N.D beat more than 3000 contenders to clinch the overall titles of Best Restaurant and Best Bar respectively.
The judges included famous chefs Mark Hix and Yotam Ottolenghi as well as designer Thomas Heatherwick, artist Kaffe Fassett, and journalist Gillian de Bono (editor of The Financial Times' How to Spend It magazine) and Julia Peyton-Jones, the director of London's Serpentine Galleries.

Judge Michael Tiedy, senior vice president of global brand & Innovation Starwood Hotels & Resorts described Les Haras as'Beautiful, consistent execution with sumptuous details', while Simon Farr, deputy chairman of Bibendum said the interior of FEI was 'Magic! Often attempted, rarely achieved'.
