Peter Frazier designs Treetop Office

Washington-based architect Peter Frazier has designed the Treetop Office in the woods of Washington, US.

Set amongst the trees above Chuckanut Bay in Bellingham, the lofted cube office of Frazier, nestled amid treetops, serves as a workspace and guest room.

The office sits below the main house and has glass on three sides of the cube and a cantilevered deck overlooking the Bay. The home office also has a green roof on top which helps insulate the little space as well as camouflage it within the forest.

Frazier got the idea to build his office in the woods when he gained over 50 pounds after years of working in a typical office. Deciding to make a change in his life, Frazier set to work on a tree top house that has eliminated his commute, gives him more family time, and access to the outdoors.

Frazier has also devised a better way to work within his home office. In order to avoid back and sciatica problems, the customer experience consultant works standing up, which also gives him a good view of the ocean. His desk consists of a plank of cedar, and there are no extra desk chairs, lamps, or other clutter-inducing items in his office space.

Frazier is a senior partner, researcher and user interface designer with UI Architects. He has provided segment-leading clarity and usability in user interfaces for digital cameras, medical equipment, navigation systems, and telecommunication.
