For the last 12 years the New Design Britain Awards have been bringing the very best of young design talent to the forefront of the international design industry. Organised in partnership with the May Design Series exhibition and conference which returns to ExCeL London on 17-19 May, the competition has been a springboard for many of the finalists' careers, some of whom have gone on to become leading talents in the design industry with work stocked in retailers like Heal's, made.com and Habitat.

May Design Series exhibition is an opportunity for visitors to see an exceptional range of interior products from the best in British and international design including many exhibitors who are relatively new to the marketplace, such as Portuguese brand GOTO which is to make its international debut at May Design Series with a range of furniture produced from local materials designed with an identity and authenticity that reflects the company's spirit, like the lacquer and wood 'Love Dresser' (see main image).

Design consultancy Haberdashery will debut with the launch of 'Disco Disco', a sound reactive light sculpture approximately one metre in diameter. Inspired by the humble Disco ball with the aim of filling any space with shimmering light, it has a sound responsive capability with the sensitivity to react to a clicked finger through to a favourite piece of music.
