An antidote to the hustle and bustle of this month’s London Design Festival furniture brand Modus presents a specially commissioned exhibition of photographs by Angela Moore, which capture the serine natural beauty that surrounds the company’s Somerset headquarters

Taking place 14-22 September, the London Design Festival will see the capital transformed into one the world's greatest design shows. But if traversing London's urban landscape in search of great design leaves you hankering for something more artistic, perhaps even bucolic, then why not head to the showroom of British furniture brand Modus in Great Sutton Street where there's an exhibition of specially commissioned photographs by Angela Moore, capturing the natural beauty that surrounds the Modus headquarters in Somerset.

Called Out of Sight the exhibition, which runs from 17 to 27 September, is to celebrate the launch of Modus's latest catalogue designed by Studio Small. There will also be a special evening on 17 September to mark the redesign and relaunch of Blueprint magazine, which will be officially launched at designjunction the following evening.

It features eight large scale prints of Moore's photographs, which capture exquisite views of sites including the Palaeolithic Cheddar Gorge and the wave-cut coastal path that Wordsworth, who briefly lived nearby, once described as 'Kilve's delightful shore'.

Though unfamiliar with Somerset, Moore, who lives in London, apparently relished the thought of getting out of her studio, exploring the area and shooting using daylight.

'I found myself getting up at 4am, and shooting in the early morning and evening. Something about the light at those times of day seemed to almost distort the landscape,' she says.
