If only we had a portable lighting device that monitored our carbon footprint, says Hoare Lea Lighting
So, you walk into a room - it's dark with only the feeble daylight from the setting sun bleeding in. You open your case and look at 'Your' light fitting. You see from the dial that you have 30 minutes' 'use' left for today. It was a heavy day yesterday with 'Your' light fitting needing to be combined with everyone else's to get the ambience right in that dingy, sub-basement meeting room.
Anyway, 30 minutes should be enough - it will help keep the meeting to the point. You offer 'Your' fitting up to the universal magnetic coupler in the ceiling and it comes on. The mobile device in your pocket streams out a set of verbal information about your previous use and tells you how much time you have left to use 'Your' fitting before exceeding your personal carbon footprint. Instantaneously, the building's BMS chimes in with a welcome, telling you the amount your company will be charged for using the host's electricity.
The meeting starts and finishes - on time.
