Hyatt Regency hotel to open in Sri Lanka


Hyatt Regency, a 43-storey luxury hotel designed by Hong Kong-based Bilkey Llinas Designs, will be constructed in Colombo, Sri Lanka.


Once completed, the proposed hotel, Hyatt Regency Colombo will have modern facilities like large banqueting and meeting spaces, food and beverage outlets, and fitness and entertainment centres. It will also feature adequate parking for the visitors.

The hotel will have 565 rooms with 475 guest rooms upon completion. The guest rooms will include 54 suites, 265 King rooms, 150 Twin rooms and six rooms for the disabled. An infinity pool with a pool deck seating 76 will be constructed on the 11th floor.

Sino Lanka Hotels & Spa (Pvt.) Ltd. has engaged industry professionals to design and build the complex; including the interior designer Bilkey Llinas Designs of Hong Kong, restaurant designer Super Potato from Japan, design architect Design Consortium Ltd and MAGA Engineering (Pvt) Ltd as the main contractor.

The required capital will be raised from a consortium of investors consisting private and state entities including the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd.
