First Time Ever: Gaudi’s House Opening to the Public
A dream of voluptuous colour and textures.
Following a major restoration, Antoni Gaudi’s first ever home, Casa Vicens, is set to open to the public this autumn. The stunning masterpiece is situated in the neighbourhood of Gracia, Barcelona.

Originally built for broker Manuel Vicens from 1883 to 1885, Gaudi’s signature style is clear from the property’s characteristics of breathtaking colour and ceramic tiles.

The project is expected to attract tourism to the city, especially as it's one of eight of Gaudi’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The house itself, has gone through many restorations over the years but has still committed to its Art Nouveau elements that Gaudi was so keen to encourage in the late 1800s.

In 1925 the flat was renovated to house three separate apartments and its most recent restoration took place in 2015 which was undertaken by architecture studio Martinez Lapena-Torres Arquitectos.
The work is scheduled to complete this autumn where it will then open for public viewings.
