Furniture inspired by surrealist artist Salvador Dalí
A side table made out of a sheep, the latest surreal item in BD Barcelona Design's Dalí Furniture Collection, will go on show at this year's Salone Internazionale del Mobile furniture fair in Milan

If he were still living, the Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí would be looking forward to his 110th birthday this year, and one would hope he would appreciate this rather fetching sheep-table as a birthday present.
This love-it-or-run-screaming-from-it item of furniture is the latest piece in the Dalí Furniture Collection, a range started in 1972 by architect and friend of Dalí's Oscar Tusquets, and sold by Spanish brand BC Barcelona Design. Each piece is inspired by the ideas Dalí explored in his surrealist paintings sketches and sculpture.
Dalí himself was known to be a fan of taxidermy - owning, among other macabre items the skeleton medium-sized gorilla, which he purchased in Barcelona.
In a sense this table was actually designed by Dali himself: something very similar - a lamb with a drawer in its side appears in the painting 'Interpretation Project for a Stable-Library' (1942).
The tables are made by Paris taxidermist Deyrolle and are in available in seriously limited edition: with only 20 white lambs and a black one having been made.
The lambs also have finely crafted wooden tables and hoofs in bronze.
Well, we like it - how about ewe?
