Fromental, Roger Thomas collaborate to design handmade wallpaper collection

UK-based interiors house Fromental, in collaboration with US-based interior designer Roger Thomas have created a new collection of hand-embroidered and hand-painted wallpaper designs to be showcased alongside its new Ponti wallpaper, at Decorex 2010.

Fromental has interpreted the sketches of Roger Thomas utilizing the exquisite techniques that adorn their own range of wallpapers. Embracing elements of distinctive decorative styles from the 17th and 18th centuries, the ornate wall coverings incorporate feathers, stones, branches and corals. These modern and classical designs are produced on paper-backed silk, laced with shimmering metallic. The Roche Meteor wallpaper in two colors will adorn the walls of Fromental’s stand at Decorex.

Fromental will also unveil its new Ponti wallpaper, paying homage to the legendary architect and designer Gio Ponti. Silks rendered with metallic marbleized washes to mimic travertine stone, are inter-cut to create this bold and large geometric design pattern of the wallpaper.

The Decorex 2010 event will be held form September 26 – 29, 2010.

At Decorex 2009, Fromental was credited with BIDA’s Best Stand award as well as received an Outstanding Design and Product Innovation Award for its cushion made ‘woodgrain’ fabric hand-embroidered on velvet.
