Food Carving, the Latest Art Trend?

Japanese artist Gaku creates out-of-this-world carvings from fruit.

If you think carving wood is difficult, try carving a piece of fresh fruit from a single sharpe knife. Gakus's mastery of food carving has hit the internet by storm with his latest Instagram posts, displaying over 90 posts of intricately carved foods.

His techniques come from the traditional art of carving Thai fruits called, 'Thai Carving'. The art work takes precision, patience and skill to get right. Check out some of his most impressive designs below.

Gaku hopes his work will inspire others to do the same.
