Milliken

Lightbox is Milliken’s latest carbon-neutral carpet plank collection designed and made in Britain. The collection is designed by Milliken’s in-house designer, Manisha Selhi, and inspired by the nature of light: both light sources and its effect on different surfaces. Fascinating forms can be seen to emerge from the shadows illuminated by bright bursts of colour giving a sense of movement across the floor plane. Solid colours give way to translucency as patterns deconstruct and simple lines and clean angles merge to become complex and multi-layered. There is a palette of 27 colours in nine colour families ranging from pink, orange and citrus to more gentle aqua, olive and damson. Within each colour range there is a neutral, tint and bright variation.

Argenta

Inspired by the architectural work created by Le Corbusier in Massachusetts, the Carpenter is made up of diverse modular formats. These include porcelain stoneware slabs in 90 x 90cm, 60 x 120cm, 60 x 60cm, 30 x 60cm. The colour scheme features natural hues of albar, taupe, pearl, grey and dark.

The tiles are also treated with antibacterial properties, making them suitable for use in residential applications as well as in public spaces such as schools, libraries, clinics and hospitals.

Vives

ABIC (Anti-Bacterial Ceramics) is a new type of ceramic product manufactured by the Spanish brand Vives. The tiles feature a hygienic-sanitary application that reduces the chance of bacteria reproducing and eliminates the presence of viruses on surfaces, making it suitable for use in gyms and health centres, schools and restaurants or any high-traffic public space.

The ABIC system works by releasing silver ions and the technique is integrated into the tile production itself. A number of Vives tile collections offer ABIC including porcelain tiles for floors, walls and exterior use and white body ceramics for walls. These include Pangea, a range inspired by terrazzo and available in a neutral range of colours.

Apavisa

The Patagonia Collection by Apavisa is a marble-effect porcelain inspired by natural stone. A combination of beige and earth tones gives this surface a distinctive look, suitable for a variety of projects, from bathroom and kitchen refurbishments to hotel or retail settings. The veining is striking with a subtle colour balance and shows how digital printing can imitate the patina of raw material very effectively.

Recork

Recork takes raw cork from the Portuguese cork oak forests, turning production waste, used for stoppers and cork from early harvests, into flooring planks. As the brand’s first collection, Recork has launched Una. Created in the form of an agglomerated cork plank, the Una range is made purely from waste cork, with a synthetic binder. Available in six shades, from whites and greys that complement Scandi themes to rich, warm browns, plant-based oil is applied to colour the cork. The surface is then primed with a specially developed pre-coat that allows the cork core to flex and absorb impacts.
