Life work: Lead designer Clementine Fletcher-Smith and Speirs + Major principal Keith Bradshaw survey their work within the 90m-long pedestrian tunnel linking King's Cross Station to David Chipperfield's One Pancras Square building.

HALFLIFE was an evolving installation using 180 concealed sources of light glowing in ever changing and unique sequences - nearly 60,000 in total - starting with white and morphing into increasingly saturated colours. Inspired by the principle of radioactive decay, HALFLIFE was the latest in a programme of artworks to make use of Speirs + Major's own lightwall within the Allies and Morrison designed curved subway.
